Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE be pleased to state:-


(a) the details of Research Centres on Camel and Horse breeding in the country, State-wise; and 

(b) the details of funds allocated, released and utilized for development and preservation of such breeds, State-wise?

(a) The state-wise location of the National Research Centres (NRC) on camel and equine and the regional station is as follows:-

The National Research Centres and the Regional station are mandated to conduct research in the areas of production, management, health and animal products technology of camel and equine respectively.

(b) The XI Plan allocation of ICAR for the research centres is as follows:-

The Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries is implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme on Conservation of Threatened Breeds of Livestock under which financial assistance has been provided to set up nucleus breeding units of several horse and camel breeds. Details of the same are as under:-
